Few years ago one of my cousins got B1 visa, he is the first person from my family to go abroad. Everyone from family, his friends, neighbors went his home with flower bouquets, sweets as a part of his send off. After they left airport I still remember his living room was like a flower bed! At that age he looked like hero to me. He became a role model to everyone of my cousins. At that stage if it is education then it is engineering, because he did! ( of course he is the most successful person).
At last the day has come, he came home. Again a big get together at his home. He got many chocolates (kisses and Hershey), make up kits for girls in the family, some games to boys. After receiving them we are more happy to see him back! This thing continued, he going to some country and getting some gifts is so exciting. Slowly everyone from the family started flying abroad and they continued the legacy of getting at least chocolates! Even I followed the legacy and got hand fans from Japan to my cousins ;-) . For voyagers like us this time it's an opportunity to fly to the land of opportunities, that is the United States of America!
Preparations to visa interview: Three websites full of most why, how and what questions.
Documents: From the day we born to present day everything that belongs and named on us.
With very good preparation we entered Chennai US embassy. I was surprised to see the queue in front of the embassy! When I asked one of the security guards he said that it was less dense! I asked him again what if it rains, he said, people still stand like that on the foot path! At last by some gods grace we entered into the embassy with no rain drop on us, on that cloudy day in Chennai. The person at the embassy asked nothing other than my qualification and our visa got approved! I was like shocked, how come he didn't ask me about my husband pay slab, the place where my husband works in United States( which I mugged up perfectly), why do I want to go US and who will take care of my expenses there! I am shocked to know that my visa got stamped with none of those questions beginning posted. In the place like Chennai where even BBC played in Tamil, I managed to ask one of the guards there, is my visa really approved then, he said yes. More than happiness I was surprised to know this!
Going to any other country is different but going to United States is more different!
